Dirtyoldman and I have been bringing the chop back to the clubs the last month, playing as the banging electro duo “dirtyoldDisco”! It has been totally awesome to see how our hard hitting style of electro gets the floor asking for more! I’ve put up some photos from the last three shows we played. After a hell of a lot of organising and pulling last minute miracles we threw a great Viral Session in Pretoria… Destrukto, Cutout Collective, dirtyoldDisco… awesome!

We played a cute little opener set at the Toxic Avenger gig, then got to drop a banger after the Team Uncool DJ set a bit later as well…Muckleneuk Massiv!

The following week we got to play another opening set at Kitchener’s Carvery for the launch of Mtkidu‘s “Shakawon” album. The opener wasn’t our classic awesome style but it was ok, we got some nods. After Mtkidu did their thing we closed off the night classic doD styleZ and dropped it hard… we were applauded.

The shows were all awesome, the other DJ’s brought it, we brought it, it was great. Come to our next show. I’ll high five you. One time.

So between now and the end of the month there are a lot of totally awesome things coming to Pretoria and Jhb!

This Thursday (20 August) my good friend Charles will be exhibiting along with a whole bunch of other talented people at Platform on 18th in Pretoria. The exhibition is called “Narrative Landscapes: Artworks generated from conceptual videos generated from personal narritives“. Then next week Thursday (27 August) will be the next installment of the Viral Underground parties, and the start of a (hopefully) regular thing in Pretoria dubbed the Viral Sessions! A nicely rennovated club smack bang in Brooklyn, Pretoria for only R25. Themba and I will be banging out an awesome electro set as the dirtyoldDisco alongside Destrukto as well as a mystery (for the time being) main live act! It’s going to be awesome, so be there!
